How it works

Upload a clear photo of your pet when you order, taken from the front, in daylight.
We check the photo first. If it works we start painting. If it does not, you get your money back.
Your file arrives by email, usually within 24 hours, ready to print at home or at any photo lab.

Which size to choose

Both sizes come from the same artwork, so the picture is identical. What changes is how large you can print it before the detail softens.

8x10 prints at 464 dpi. The sharper file: for a desk frame, a shelf, anything people look at from close up.
16x20 prints at 230 dpi. For a wall, where it is seen from a step or two away. Up close it is softer than the 8x10, and we would rather tell you now than have you find out after you print it.

Questions

What photo should I send?

Daylight. The whole face in the frame. Eyes visible and looking towards the camera. One animal per portrait.

What does not work: photos taken in the dark, from far away, from behind, or with the head turned away. We check every photo before we start, and if yours cannot make a good portrait we tell you and refund you in full rather than send you something weak.

When will I get it?

Normally within 24 hours, always within 5 business days. It arrives by email, so check your spam folder first: that is where it usually is. If it is not there, write to us with your order number and we resend it straight away.

What if it does not look like my pet?

Tell us what is wrong and we remake it, once, at no cost, within 14 days. Be specific: the coat is the wrong color, the eyes are wrong, there is a collar that should not be there. Those are the things we fix, and the more precise you are the closer the second one comes back.

How do I print it?

Anywhere: home printer, local print shop, online print service. Set your printer to actual size rather than fit to page, and use matte paper if you have the choice.

Can I get a refund?

Yes if we fail: if your photo cannot be used, if we do not deliver, or if the file does not work. No once a good file has been delivered, because a file cannot be given back. This portrait is painted for your animal and nobody else, which makes it a custom made item, so we do not accept returns or cancellations once work has started. Can I use it on things I sell?

Not without asking. The portrait is yours to print for yourself and to give as a gift. For commercial use, write to us first.

How is the portrait made?

The artwork is generated with the support of artificial intelligence, from the photo you send, and reviewed by a person before it reaches you. We say it here because you are buying a picture of your own animal and you deserve to know how it was made.
